BJP gherao 'New TMC' MLA Sandipan Saha's house in Entally, protest over 'cut money'
Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari has launched a sharp attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee over her recent rally in Birbhum, which focused on Bengali language and women’s dignity. He accused the CM of hypocrisy, pointing out that she has not acted against her party’s leader Anubrata Mandal, who is accused of threatening to rape a Bengali police officer and his family.
Addressing the media, Adhikari alleged that Mamata Banerjee is using identity politics to distract people from the real issues plaguing the state. “On one hand, she speaks of Bengali pride and women’s safety. On the other, she shields leaders like Anubrata who make disgraceful threats,” he said.
He called the Birbhum rally a “show-off” and an attempt to divert public attention from law and order failures and rising corruption. The BJP leader also questioned why Mamata Banerjee continues to protect her close aides despite serious allegations.
According to Adhikari, such events are part of a larger strategy to avoid accountability. He demanded strict action against Anubrata Mandal and urged people not to fall for what he termed “political theatre.”
